  1. Can I get new loans during the restructuring process?  
    No, you would not be allowed to take new loans until you have been cleared from the process.

  2.  Can I exit debt review while I still owe my creditors?
    Yes, you can exit debt review if your financial circumstance has improved

  3. Will debt restructuring cover all my debts?
    Yes, all your debts will be included in the restructuring process.

  4. If I am married, would my spouse be included in the process?
    Yes, your spouse will be included if you are married in community of property. You may choose to exclude your spouse if you are married out of community of property.

  5. Will Debt restructuring protect me from legal action by my creditors?
    Yes, you will be protected from legal action like repossession of assets or garnishee orders against your salary.

  6. How long does the debt restructuring process take?
    The time it takes to complete the process will vary from person to person depending on your income and the total outstanding balances of your debts. The debt review process may take between 36-60 months if your financial circumstance is unchanged. But you can exit debt review any time if your financial circumstance has improved. E.g If you now earn more income and can afford your normal installments.

  7. Does debt restructuring have any disadvantage?
    Yes, You will not be able to get new credit during the process.
